Every October, for one night only, the lights come on, the fog begins to drift through the grounds, and months of imagination, planning, construction, and preparation finally come to life.
What visitors experience in just a few minutes is the result of nearly a year’s worth of creativity. Long before Halloween arrives, new ideas begin as sketches, conversations, and late-night brainstorming sessions before slowly taking shape through countless hours of building sets, designing props, creating costumes, programming lighting and sound, and refining every detail that will become part of that year’s experience.
That simple question has guided Deadly Fantasies / Silent Nightmares™ for more than two decades. Each season becomes another opportunity to build something new, improve what came before, and create memories that visitors will carry with them long after Halloween has ended. While every room, every creature, and every illusion continue to evolve, the goal has always remained the same, to create an unforgettable Halloween experience built on imagination, craftsmanship, and the thrill of the unknown.
Sets are framed and skinned, props are fabricated, costumes are built, lighting and sound are programmed, and every cue is rehearsed until the timing is right. Rooms that take months to build are experienced in seconds.
Deadly Fantasies / Silent Nightmares™ has always been about giving something back to the community. Admission has never been charged because the greatest reward is not measured in ticket sales. It has been measured in the excitement of returning visitors, families who make the attraction part of their Halloween traditions, and the memories created together year after year.

Long before the gates opened each Halloween, before visitors ever stepped into the darkness, an ancient force known as Phobetor, the immortal embodiment of fear and nightmares, searched for a way to extend his influence beyond the dream world. For countless ages he existed only within humanity’s nightmares, feeding upon its deepest fears but unable to fully cross into reality.
Everything changed when a brilliant scientist named Logan Fisher became the focus of Phobetor’s attention. Night after night, Logan’s dreams were invaded. The nightmares grew darker, more vivid, and more relentless until the boundary between dreams and reality began to disappear. What began as torment slowly became obsession, and obsession ultimately became purpose.
Driven by forces he no longer understood, Logan devoted himself to unlocking a doorway between worlds.
The gateway he found became known simply as The Portal. Through it, Phobetor’s influence spread beyond the dream world, allowing his Generals, each the living embodiment of humanity’s greatest fears, to extend their reach into the mortal plane. Every nightmare, every phobia, and every whispered fear strengthened the growing realm that existed beyond the gate.
It is said that each General governs a different terror. Blood, storms, webs, vermin, or imprisoning their victims within impossible spaces where fear itself becomes the greatest weapon. Together they shape a kingdom where every nightmare humanity has ever imagined becomes terrifyingly real.
Each Halloween, as the gates of Deadly Fantasies / Silent Nightmares™ open once again, visitors unknowingly step onto the edge of that realm.
For years, that mythology existed only within the attraction, experienced by those who dared to enter. As the legend continued to grow, so too did the realization that the story behind the nightmares deserved to be told beyond Halloween night. That journey eventually inspired the Deadly Fantasies / Silent Nightmares™ novels, expanding the mythology while remaining forever connected to the place where it all began.
